NYC Gets Green with Urban Farming


Urban farming has been at the tip of everyone's tongues these days, with articles about vertical "living walls", PSA's shot in city rooftop greenhouses, and a sponsored albeit exciting video about urban farming. This article from Fast Company's "Fast Cities 2010" story illustrates in simple terms just how city landscapes can be and are made into urban farms. Among the increasing number of established urban farms, Gotham Greens is planning to open a hydroponic rooftop farm in Brooklyn, selling to Whole Foods, local restaurants and farmer's markets.
