Volunteer Post-Sandy

The wind and rain have dissipated and the tidal surge has retreated, but Manhattan is still reeling from Sandy! The coastlines are especially hurting. As always, New York will bounce back, but it will need some help.

We hope that you will join us over the next few days, weeks, and months in helping our neighbors get back on their feet, houses back on their foundations, and eventually get those feet back on our clean beaches! Here are a few volunteer opportunities in the New York area, but please message us on Twitter @Loomstate_Org with more ideas!

Waves for Water will be focusing on assessing damages, providing emergency supplies, and working to rebuild NY and NJ coastlines.

Volunteer in a Red Cross shelter or at your local chapter. Reach out to staffing@nyredcross.org.

Food Bank for NY is looking for monetary and food donations, as well as volunteers.
Help get food and supplies to those in need with New York Cares. To ensure quality of care, you must attend an orientation before volunteering your time.
